Amir Khan faces Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on Saturday (Sunday in the Uk)  at 9 p.m. May 7, 2016,  at the new, 20,000 capacity, T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The HBO pay-per-view main event promises to be an exciting, fast-action bout, with Canelo Alvarez defending his WBC middleweight boxing title.

'King' Khan (31-3, 19 KOs)will be moving up two weight divisions to take on Alvarez(46-1-1, 32 KOs)  who is the favourite going into the weigh in. After the Khan camp asked the Alvarez camp to refrain from re-hydrating, and the request was rejected, it looks like Khan will be facing a much bigger man than anticipated. Certainly not a 160-pound middleweight.

Many people see this fight as a one-sided mismatch, but it is also an intriguing fight, due to the fact that Canelo may be underestimating Khan.

Canelo said of Khan "Khan is a very fast, very elusive and very tricky fighter. But I am happy with the work I have done and I am ready to go in the ring and break him down.”

Khan sees his moving up in weight divisions more of challenge and something that boxers should practice more often, especially young boxers.

Khan commented on his decision to move up, "It's a great jump for me to take, and it's a great message to send to young boxers: You should take these fights, this is what boxing's about. If you want to be honored as a great champion, you have to take these risks sometimes."
